FALL of 2026   thru Year end and into 2027

 VFW Post 2468 -  Building Construction Goals

 

1. Expansion of the Post will provide future opportunities to assist our community when the need arises.

2. Youth Recognition with families and friends - Patriotic Art,  Parotic Pen, & Voice of Democracy  Annual contest for middle school to high school students in Douglas County

3. Wildlife Advocacy – Expand  handling of -Elk, Deer, Bear & Fish, And Food Pantry to handout food to Veterans and their families and others in need in Douglas County

4. Historical items display set up to permit school classes to visit the Post and visit  Veterans for historical aspect of  items from past Wars and Conflicts with Q&A session.

5. Tie in visits to the Remembrance Wall with visits for School groups-School Class reunions with veterans’ plaques of Living and Veterans that have passed on the wall.  Expand Wall by adding more sections, e.g., Women who served.

6. Outside Veteran support originations use facility for gathering of veterans to meet and or have food served if desired. Special occasions for Veteran Recognition for Veteran’s Celebration of Life.

7. Computer bank to permit veterans to use for looking for work, use for building skills for bettering their life.

8. Permit local originations use for programs like Operation Home Front -Return to School program & Operation Home front for Christmas.

9. Permit local nonprofits and originations looking for a one day out visit for their group, use the facility with VFW Oversite to answer questions if desired.  

10. As a Dedicated Heat & Cool Center when needed in Douglas County

11. Permit other Veteran Oriented organizations to use facility for meeting  and special occasions.
